Anxiety
Anxiety comes in different shapes and forms for adults and children. Anxiety symptoms consist of a persistent feeling of worry, fear or panic that interferes with daily functioning. Some examples of anxiety disorders are generalized anxiety, social anxiety, separation anxiety.
Body Image Dissatification/Body Dysmorphia
Body Image Dissatisfaction refers to how one perceives themselves. The difference between body image dissatisfaction and body dysmorphia is body image dissatisfaction occurs when someone is unhappy about their body size or shape. Body dysmorphia is when someone persistently highlights flaws in their appearance and as a result may avoid photos, social interactions, constantly examine themselves in the mirror, have perceived constant thoughts that diets/workouts will not work or compare themselves to others.
Depression
Depression is characterized by feelings of hopelessness, emptiness and/or sadness, with elevated or decreased moods, that is persistent most of the day, nearly every day for two weeks or more. The symptoms of depression can lead to emotional and physical challenges and inhibit your ability to perform daily functioning at home, at work, or even school, in children.
General Mental Health
General Mental Health concerns refers to difficulties with someone's emotional, cognitive, behavioral and social well-being. Difficulties in these areas can impact how we think, behave, handle stressful situations, problem-solve, and make decisions. Examples of general mental health concerns can include self-esteem and self-confidence difficulties, emotional dysregulation, and how someone relates to others. Maybe you just want someone to talk to?
Grief/ Loss
Grief is an overwhelming emotional wave that comes about in ebbs and flows. Grief shows itself in 5 stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. These stages are our bodies natural adaptions to protect ourselves and process the change to reality.
Life Transitions
Life transitions are any life-altering changes or adjustments, whether planned or unplanned. These changes can be seen as changing careers, moving towards or away from loved ones, becoming ill or disabled, leaving to college or divorce. Life transitions alters our comfortability within ourselves, it makes us question our purpose and sense of belonging, and ultimately changes how you operate daily.
Trauma
Trauma is a result of an exposure to a life threatening incident or series of incidents that are distressing, causing emotional, behavioral and psychological difficulties thereafter. Trauma is stored in our bodies and often times, if unhealed, can negatively impact personal and professional relationships.
